Sleep Is Not Wasted Time

Sleep is not wasted time. It is part of how your body restores, resets, and prepares for the next day.

Good sleep can support your mood, memory, energy, and ability to stay active. It also works together with other healthy habits, such as regular movement and nourishing food.

You do not need a perfect bedtime routine. Start with one small change that helps you wind down. Try going to bed at about the same time, keeping your bedroom dark and quiet, or taking a short walk during the day.

If sleep has become difficult, do not simply accept it as part of getting older.

Persistent insomnia, loud snoring, gasping during sleep, or feeling exhausted during the day are worth discussing with a healthcare professional.

Sleep is not a luxury. It is part of taking care of yourself.
